Before applying read this post. It has a few points that are kinda important for would-be members.

    Forsaken has rules:
The guild Forsaken has rules. These rules are available in this forum: http://forsaken-guild.omgforum.net/f4-rules
Read these rules and make sure you can follow them before applying, because failing to do so will get you kicked, and that is a waste of everyone's time.
Noticable is: You need to behave at all times, in or out of guild activity. You can not spam or troll world channels, you can not scam, you can not do anything that puts the guild in a bad light. And of course all that applies when dealing with other guild members as well.

    Forsaken is a raiding guild:
Yes, we are social, but the point of our guild remains progress and raiding, and if you are not able to attend raids regularly, you are not able to contribute to the guild's main focus. This is tough, but it's how it is. Check our raiding times and make sure you will be able to attend at those times regularly. And remember that on time means half an hour early. Also, because we want to focus on raiding we don't want to invite people who just started on the server and heard about us at level 10 and apply at level 15. You should be level 60 or very close before applying.

Be comitted and ready to take advice
Frankly, we expect people to perform great in our raids. The class leaders are pretty much the role figures you should aspire to. Luckily, the class leaders have been chosen not only for being good at what they do, but for being willing to share and help. And they will help you if you need it, and you have to be willing to take that help. This may include respeccing, this may include changing playstyle, but whatever it includes, you have to be willing to listen to the class leader and if necessary take orders on your spec.

Help your guildmates and don't be afraid to socialize
While this is a raiding guild and our focus is raids and raid progress, you should still be willing to help out guildmates outside raids and to talk and socialize with the rest of the guild while not raiding. It is our belief that raids work best if people know each other and can have fun with each other, even while wiping on a new boss. And in the end: The guild focus is raiding, but the reason we're gaming in the first place is we want to have fun, right?

    We use Ventrilo!
In raids, we communicate using ventrilo. As a member of the guild, you have to have ventrilo and be able to listen to and understand what we are saying in ventrilo. The guild language is English. If you can not listen to ventrilo during raid times and understand spoken English, you should not apply. You do not have to be able to talk in Ventrilo, though it is a bonus.

    A note on the guildchat:
The guild consists in large part of adults, and as such, the language in the guild chat is not, so to say, squeakyclean. Also, some of us, especially the older members and officers, have known each other for 6+ months and have a repetouir of inside jokes - often revolving around harsh language. While this won't, or at least shouldn't, mean that *you* will be spoken harshly to, if you don't like frank, harsh or adult language, you should join the guild with caution.
NOTE: This is not an invite to speak harshly to anyone or make any indescent remarks about people or anything like that. Nor is it an attempt to say that you should accept that people talk to you like that. We have kicked people for bad language and bad attitude. This is merely a warning that it may happen other guild members in-between, but if you ever harrass or feel harrassed, it should be taken up with an officer!

As for the actual application, what we want to know from you people is the following:
What kind of person you are, what kind of experience you have with the game, what kind of commitment you have to raiding, stuff like that. The most important thing, however, is the "What kind of person are you?", as we believe in improved raiding through friendship and fellowship.

Title of the topic should be your character name and your character class and the spec(s) you are applying as

Below are some questions to help you make your application. If you are not good at applications, just answer the questions as best you can (Check out the sample application).

Have you read and understood the guild rules, and can you attend raids with our current raid times?:
    Can you listen on Ventrilo?
    Can you speak as well?

    Character name:
    Class:
Talent spec(s) you are applying with:
    Relevant stats:
HP/Armor/Defense/Dodge/Block/Parry as tank, AP/Hit/Crit for physical dmg chars, SP/Spellhit/Spellcrit/MP5/Mana for casters. All unbuffed

    Raid experience:
Which classic raids have you completed?

Class/spec experience: How much experience do you have with playing the class and spec you are applying with?

    Location:
    Age:

Do you know anyone in Forsaken, and if so, who?

Why do you want to join Forsaken?
Quite apart from being a good raiding guild, is there anything else about the Forsaken that has tickled your fancy? Have you heard of our humour, our insane officer staff, our mascot Viking? Why is it *Forsaken* that you want to join?

What kind of person are you? As in are you a humorous person, are you friendly, do you like the odd dungeon that you don't really need, just to socialize, what makes you *you* and not the guy next to you?

What can you bring to the guild? Yes, we know you can bring another «insert your class and role here» to the guild. But what else? Are you the kind of guy that will help other guild members farm dungeons for items, would you help farm buff consumables for that big upcomming progression raid next weekend, do you have alts that can provide us with crafting items with CDs, anything like that.

    Anything you want to add?

Make a thread in this forum with the topic being your character name and class/spec you apply with such as "Rodent - Arms warrior", and the post itself containing your application.

Note: A long, meaty life story along the lines of "I was born, I grew up" can be hard to chew through, try to be clear and to the point. Also, we are mainly interested in relevant info, so be selective about what you write. Clearing Kara with a pug during Wrath is not interesting. Clearing BWL with a pug during Cata might be, as you would know the tactics.

Other members can then post about you, saying anything good or bad they want, and your class leader to be will in the end make the desicion to invite you or not.

    Good luck with your application!

Further updated with a new question and an attempt to emphasize the importance of being brief and relevant when writing the application
