    Talent Specializations Empty Talent Specializations

Post by Aphrodite Tue Jun 15, 2010 11:10 pm

    Hello,

I thought it would be a good idea to create a topic where you post your current talent specs and/or give informative criticizm about others speccs. It could also help less experienced players decide how to distribute their talents.

The talent calculator can be found here:

    http://wow112.gamestool.net/

To then post your talents, copy the URL a bit further down the page.

And since it's tradition for the OP to begin, I'd like to share a specc with you. I call it: Improved Thorns, Resto Style

    [DRUID]

    13/0/38

    My current spec:
    http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=11215875_1_8t505d5225010251052051c5i

    Tactics:
Bloodlust whenever it's ready, spare rage goes into whirlwind, spare spare rage goes into a cleave. Popping Bloodrage and Berserker Rage whenever ready for additional rage.

The spec I would have, hadn't it been for The Bug:
    http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=11215875_1_804305d302i505c05525010051r

    Tactics:
    Same as my current spec.

Possible 2H fury spec that I'm considering trying out, just for laughs:
    http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=11215875_1_8s55c2005025510251052051l

    Tactics:
Made for a slow 2H weapon.
Gonna be rage-starved, hence the improved rage talents.
    Simple tactics: Slamspam.
    EDIT: Spec is crap!

guess Deflection would be just good for PvP purpose....
If you wanna be a raiding hunta, go for humanoid/beast slaying.

Guess Clever Trap could help too, dealing with "kiting".
Always talking about DSP, both Improved Concussive Shot and Aimed Shot, suck.

    http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=11226005_3_85p25051030513051c5005041h
Guess something like this, would be good for raiding purpose.
You can even get out scatter shot, for 3 more yards range.

Also, you've Surefooted, for the nice 3% bonus on hit rating (and that's GODly good)

nice spec indeed...still if you plan to raid, the 3s "charge time" of the aimed shot, is useless (it screws all the rotations! stopping even autoshot)

Same goes for improved Concussive Shot...the hunter marks guess could be better

actually if you start casting aimed shot at lets say 0.3 seconds left for the next auto shot, it shoots the normal shot then after 2.7 seconds shoots the aimed shot and then shoots another normal shot (0.3 seconds), and also if you're using a ranged weapon that has speed > 2.9 then Aimed Shot will hit like a truck, basicly the rotation should be
    Aimed shot
    (optional and recommended: Serphent Sting)
    Auto shot
    Multi-shot
    Auto shot
    Auto shot
    Auto shot
(the old 10 second rotation it depends on your weapon speed though)
    here's an example:
    1 Aimed shot: 1222
    1 Multi-shot: 861
    3 Auto shot: 1776
    Total Damage: 3859
    Cycle time: 10 seconds
    Overall dps: 385.9
and besides that if you dont use aimed shot, what will the rotation be?

Too bad elitistjerks doesn't have an "archive" and I might be wrong, but Aimed screwed all the rotations back then. Do not forget, here, game mechanics could be slighty different...so Aimed could fit in...

Btw, classical rotation, depending on weapon speed.
Usually, fill-in, between auto-shots, any "special shot" out of CD (Arcane, Multi...and sting when needed).

At the end the thing is "do not miss ANY autoshot timer" and be hit capped Wink
(eheh, and be OVERbuffed, using flasks, potions, foods, scrolls and whatever you can. Buffs STACKS here)

As far as I remember, also a Survival specced hunter, could be cool in BWL Wink

there were 3 dominant specs for hunters back then: 0/31/20 0/21/30 and 5/31/15, basicly all 3 are nice and i personally prefer 0/31/20 because it was best at almost any aspect of playing a hunter, 0/21/30 was more pvp oriented and 5/31/15 is very good if you're hit capped and dont need the hit talent.
and about stacking buffs, i'm almost sure that it got fixed TODAY with the update we had.

EDIT: can you remind me how much +hit you need to be capped?

I sure hope not, because as I remember it, that's how it was back then.

    Hunter hit cap is 8%.

Max dps raidspec for hunters would be

    http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=11226005_3_85q555113551305133o

That's with the hit cap. I don't know how much the 3% hit talent will differ from that spec above.

you can debate nonstop about hunter specs, but i dont think it's a good idea to skip the hit chance talent if you still dont have nice gear.

A new build I'm planning on trying out. Might be interesting to see for all you druids Smile

    http://wow112.gamestool.net/druidt.php?50000503110510000000000000000000505003112314050

Nature's Grace along with the 50% improved crit of Regrowth makes for some killer healing. Can easily be procced of a lvl 1 Regrowth if one so wishes. It's mainly focused for raids and doesn't consider threat reduction important, though that is very flexible. And seeing as Healing Touch is rarely used in raids (exception for lvl 4) it isn't really focused on it. Not sure how it will turn out, though as I said: it might be interesting.
